I Have Got Mail!!!

This year, Teachers' Day coincides with Janmashtami, which marks the birth of the greatest teacher, who taught us Bhagavad Gita!!!

A Special Teacher

Today is Teachers' Day in India. The day always remind me of a 'person', who I used to refer as 'Teacher'. It was not a random name and there are reasons behind it but let us not go there.

I have known the person for close to 24 years. We used to talk to each other, we use to like each other but we were not 'friends'. Our talks mostly revolved around others. Later, for a long period, we lost touch. We were never good friends so neither of us really made an attempt to contact the other.

It was around 10 years back that I contacted the person. I needed to get some details from the person. Nothing else. I was not really looking to have a friendship. Though, it was a phase in which I was not doing too well emotionally and I used to look for opportunities to talk to people just to avoid my own company. When we talked, we struck a chord. Or may be I should say that I liked talking to the person. The person was also not doing too well and we found each other. We used to talk and support each other. There was nothing anyone could do about my situation and I just needed to talk to someone. In case of the person, there were several issues and I would like to believe that I helped in keeping the chin up. At least that is what the person suggested.

We became close and we started talking for hours every day. I was liking it and so was that person. But then, things fell apart. We could not remain friends and all because of me. I abruptly stopped talking to the person and I know that I caused a lot of pain. But I did not mean to. I did what I did partly because I did not want to cause a bigger pain later.

Now, we are not in touch. I know where the person is. I do not know whether my whereabouts are known to the person or not. I truly cared and I still do. I wish the person the best in life.

I wish that we could remain friends. I wish that we can become friends again. Not close ones but just friends. I wish that I can explain to the person that I care and I am sorry. I wish that I can refer to the person as 'friend' or 'teacher' and not as 'person'.

I am sorry my friend. I hope you always do well. Wish you the best.

Maruti Suzuki's Dominance in the Indian Passenger Car Market: Case Study

Across the globe, automotive markets are quite competitive. Every major market has presence of major OEMs (i.e., Original Equipment Manufacturers) and they fight for every digit in the market share, before or after the decimal point. The competition is cutthroat in most markets.

So, in today's times, do you think a single OEM can have more than 50% share of the passenger car market in a country? Is it possible?

Yes, it is!!!

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has been the number one player for more than 30 years in one of the largest passenger car markets in the world. Indeed, it had the significant benefit of starting early in a high potential and non-liberalized market like India. However, with the right strategies and positioning, it has been able to maintain its number one position even after Indian market opened up and foreign players poured in. Players like Tata Motors, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Ford and GM have been in the market for 15-25 years. Yet, they have not managed to dethrone MSIL. Maruti Suzuki is an interesting case study that presents several takeaways for OEMs across the globe.

Hmmmm....

Everyone wants a long life. Everyone wants to do such many things in their life. The needs, wants and aspirations are so high that typically a lifetime is not enough.

But have you ever wondered what will you do if life gives you 7 days. 7 days is all you have before you run out of time. Or if you get 7 days to know your fate. You won't die after those 7 days but life may no longer be the same. Slightly better scenario than the first one, isn't it? But what will you do?

Will you try to do things that you always wanted to do? Will you try to have good time with your family? Will you try to do things to ensure your family does not have too many troubles? Difficult choices. But one thing is certain, that time is not going to be enough. It seldom is.

Lots of Positives

India won the test series against Sri Lanka. It was truly a commendable performance by the team.

If we do a session by session analysis, Indian team truly dominated most of the sessions. They could have easily won the series 3-0 instead of 2-1 but they played poorly in a few sessions in the first test match. Overall, it was a splendid effort by the team.

If we look at the batsmen, all of them played a big knock. Vijay, Dhawan, Rahul, Pujara, Kohli, and Rahane scored a century in the series. The only batsman who missed out was Rohit Sharma but he played few crucial innings and did score 79 in a match. He scored couple of half centuries.

Kohli's captaincy was spot on during the series but I do believe that he could have done much better in selecting the playing XI.

One man who truly surprised during the series was Ishant Sharma. He bowled with aggression but more importantly, he bowled the right line and length. He was brilliant in the final test and he definitely exceeded my expectations. I hope Ishant bowls with the same aggression in every match.

Overall, lots of positives came out of the series victory. India just needs to sort the number 6 and 7 positions. If they manage to do that, they would become a dominant force in test cricket. They need a good wicket-keeping batsman and a good bowling all-rounder. Saha (to some extent) and Binny (surely) are not the right options. I hope Indian selectors find better replacements and soon!!!

A Case of Wrong Information & Premature Ejaculation

This the post and picture that AAPtards were sharing a couple of days back. They were suggesting that, while Modi is busy with foreign trips, Yugpurush and his men have already taken action against Sheila Dikshit and have filed a FIR.

Till then, their law minister had only made a recommendation to his bosses to file a FIR against Dikshit and no FIR had been filed yet. But AAP, like always, started giving a wrong picture to the public and AAPtards started to have premature ejaculation.

Anyways....since then I have been eagerly and anxiously waiting for an action by AAP and today they did take an action. They removed their law minister!!! :P

They may still file a FIR later against Dikshit to avoid further bashing but they prioritized the action against their Minister!!! After all, how dare he suggest an action against the real bosses in Congress!!!!

AAPtards bhaiyon, maan gaye....aapke yugpurush aur aapki mand-buddhi....donon ko!!!
