Every once in a while, you receive a message that makes you pause and reflect. I received one such message from someone I had the pleasure of working with. It was warm, thoughtful and deeply personal. I read it more than once, and each time, I found myself touched by the sincerity behind those words. I thought I would share a few excerpts from it.
"Sir, it has been a great experience for me at Upwisery. I've had the opportunity to meet some truly wonderful people here, and I'm grateful for that."
"Thank you for taking so much time out of your busy schedule for me, for all our work-related discussions, and for the guidance you've shared with me."
"Thank you so much for everything. I'll always cherish the memories and the time I've spent with all of you."
"I haven't really told you this before, but I've read many of your blogs on Blogspot, and it felt really good to have met someone whose thoughts and perspectives I've admired from afar. I especially admire the way you speak about your daughter; it reflects something truly beautiful about you."
"I’d be genuinely happy if our paths ever crossed again. Thank you once again for everything, Sir. I wish you and Upwisery the very best!"
I was deeply moved by this message, not merely because of the kind words, but because of the thoughtfulness, warmth and composure with which they were expressed. It is not often that someone takes the time to write such a personal note to their reporting manager, and I genuinely appreciated the gesture.
I must confess that I am an extremely socially awkward person. I have always found it difficult to mingle with people, particularly those I am meeting for the first time. Yet, when it comes to my team, I have always tried to maintain a friendly, approachable relationship, even if it doesn't always come naturally to me. I suppose that is why this message meant a lot. It was reassuring to know that, somewhere along the way, the conversations and interactions had left a positive impression.
The reference to my old blogs and my daughter was an unexpected and lovely surprise. I had no idea those writings had been read, let alone remembered. But more than anything, what stayed with me was the grace and generosity of spirit reflected in the message. I am happy to have worked with this person, and I sincerely wish them every happiness, success and fulfilment in life. I hope our paths cross again someday.
Sometimes, it is these small, unexpected gestures that remind us that beyond our professional roles, it is the human connections that truly matter.
